About Brazos River Baptist Church
Brazos River Baptist Church exists to glorify God and make disciples. This is lived out in how that we seek to reflect His greatness through worship, obedience, and living according to faith in His Word. We make disciples through evangelism, baptism, and teaching them in obedience. We mature disciples by helping the love God fully and mobilize them to love their neighbors - at home, within the church, and around the world.
What we believe.
At Brazos River Baptist Church, our core beliefs are firmly rooted in the fundamental truths of Scripture. Every aspect of our faith and practice flow from the irreducibility of these principles.
God
We believe in one God, who exists in three persons: The Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.
Ordinances of the Church
We uphold two ordinances; baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Both are symbolic acts that represent the gospel story of redemption, but they are not means of guaranteeing salvation or forgiveness.
Jesus Christ
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, His full deity and humanity, His sinless life, His substitutionary atonement for sin, His Bodily resurrection, and His promised Return.
Additional beliefs
For more on our beliefs, please visit the Southern Baptist Faith and Message website. (Baptist Faith and Message 2000 - The Baptist Faith and Message)
The Bible
We believe in the authority and inerrancy of the Bible - the one true account of God’s redemptive work in history - sufficient in all matters of faith and practice.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is by God’s grace, through faith, in Christ, alone.
